Converse's Band-tailed Pigeon at their feeder in Grand Coulee is a lucky
find. This forced me to go through the records that I'm aware of in eastern
Washington. The only place that they are found on a regular basis is the
northwest corner of Klickitat Co. Like around Trout Lake.

I went through the Washington Birders preliminary county lists in which they
are scored as to abundance. The abundance codes are as:
1=common
2=uncommon
3=usually seen every year
4=rare
5=accidental (less than 5 records)

Here's the run down by county

Adams---no records
Asotin (5)
Benton(5)
Chelan(5)
Columbia (5)
Douglas(5)
Ferry---no records
Franklin---no records
Garfield---no records
Grant (4)
Kittitas (3)
Klickitat (3)
Lincoln---no records
Okanogan (5)
Pend Oreille---no records
Spokane (5)
Stevens (5)
Walla Walla (5)
Whitman (5)
Yakima (5)

So back to Converse's Band-tailed Pigeon is quite rare with more than 5
records in Grant Co. More birders birding eastern Washington will no doubt
find more. And if anyone knows of more records I am always eager to hear
about them from eastern Wash.
