I'm not so sure that this bird was moving through. I think habitat is much
more important than elevation. MacGillivray territories in other puget
location are no higher than 500 foot in many cases lower. In kitsap county
I have found males on territories at 2-300 foot elev. At a few of our
sites in King and Snohomish county pairs have been netted around that
elev. Even more amazing (I'm sure this was a migrant) but of interest
anyhow was a male netted in the medicinal herb garden at the U some time
back.
