Banding Report for Neawanna Wetland Preserve
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR

27 June 1999

Method: Up to eight 9m mist nets are placed in mixed Oregon
Crabapple/Twinberry/Spruce along the the upper Neawanna River,
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR. Captured birds are measured, ringed
with USBBL numbered metal bands and released. Data on time of
capture and side of net captured are also recorded to gain
an understanding of movements through the area.

Notes: The first of the hatching year birds have begun to turn
up in nets. In fact, of the 19 birds captured this morning 9 were
hatch year birds. These include 2 RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS, 1 DOWNY
WOODPECKER (capture with female adult), 2 AMERICAN ROBINS and
4 SONG SPARROWS. Male and female adult SOSP were captured with
the first two HY SOSP of the morning.

Recaptured SWAINSON THRUSH first banded 6/12/1999. Female
COMMON YELLOTHROAT first banded 6/6/1999 and male 6/12/1999.
