The Golden Plover reported last week was not relocated.

A large congregation of COMMON MURRES is now feeding from the South Jetty
of the Columbia River. Nearly 20 000 where seen Saturday fly by or feeding
in the ocean. Good numbers were still present Monday afternoon. There
are quite a few PACIFIC LOONS off the jetty as well.

A single unidentified Calidris-type sandpiper seen Monday represents my
only contribution to the front edge of the fall movements.

A PIED-BILLED GREBE with 9 grebelets was in the wetlands near the Skipannon
River. This is the third year for successful breeding in this spot by Pied-
billed Grebes.

In other breeding news, VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS were showing off youngsters
at the Neawanna Wetlands in Seaside. Nestbox checks found TREE SWALLOWS
and BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEES. Hatching year DOWNY WOODPECKERS, RUFOUS
HUMMINGBIRDS, AMERICAN ROBINS and SONG SPARROWS were captured and banded
at the Neawanna Wetland banding station
