I've been going through the Tweeter's archives and found a subject near
and dear to my heart. I remember having a little go 'round about this one
a couple of years ago. Well this hybridism on Vancouver Island is truly a
bother. I have been studying any tape of these two species I can. I have
three plus the Peterson's CD Rom. Last year I thought I was making
headway. Now this! How on earth can I have confidence in the data for the
breeding bird survey I do. These are the only two I have a problem with.
Maybe I need more tapes. Maybe I should pack in the breeding bird survey?
Maybe I'm going nuts!....

Has anyone heard of tapes of Vancouver Island birds?...

You know what would be a great idea? A CD with bird songs. You can pop it
into your portable CD player punch in the number corresponding to the bird
you want and presto! The song! No messing about finding the right place on
the tape deck.
