Victoria Rare Bird Alert for Thursday, February 25 at 9 p.m.
Compiled by Bryan Gates. Transcribed by Virginia Jessop.
Feature Bird
----------------
BLUE JAY
February 25
A BLUE JAY appeared again after an absence of a week or more at 3341
Mary Anne Crescent near Cairndale Rd. This bird appears to have been in
that general area through much of the fall and winter.
A SNOW GOOSE flew over Cordova Bay, circled and flew back over
Blenkinsop Lake in the early morning.
The GYRFALCON could still be at the golf driving range on Beverly Street
just south of Somenos Marsh in Duncan.
The YELLOW-BILLED LOON reported recently at Ladysmith harbour could not
be relocated on February 23, but could still be somewhere in that
general area of Ladysmith. Updates would be appreciated.
A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD may still be at the entrance of Tower Point near
Whitty's Lagoon in Metchosin. It was last reported there about February
21.
Pleasant birding!
