February 28, 1999, Sunday, 12:51 p.m. Hi, this is Dick Nelson at Point No
Point on the northeast tip of the Kitsap Peninsula. An adult LITTLE GULL
was here off the point again this weekend through an absence of about 10
days. Thank you. Good bye.

February 28, 1999, Sunday, 8:21 p.m. Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Today
Jim Flynn, Jason Starfire, Sam Terry and I birded the Eide Road access,
Utsalady Bay and the Samish Flats. Highlights included 2 GYRFALCONS, 1 at
the 90 degree bend on Field Road in the Samish Flats, another one just south
of Bayview along Bayview-Edison Road. We also had an Atlantic subspecies
BRANT at Alice Bay, near the base of Samish Island. A HARLAN'S HAWK at the
West 90, 6 or 7 EARED GREBES at Utsalady Bay, a SLATE-COLORED JUNCO and an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER at Utsalady Point. I think that about covers it.
Good luck and good birding.

March 1, 1999, Monday, 6:59 a.m. Hi, this Gene Revelas in Tacoma. (253)
756-7834. Rick Romea and I lead a Seattle Audubon trip to the Sequim area
yesterday and the SLATY-BACKED GULL that been there about a month was still
along Schmuck Road. It was at the very south end of Schmuck Road in the
field to the west of the road with about 200 other GULLS, half of them are
MEWS. Other highlighting included a couple early VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS at
the Three Crabs Restaurant. That's about it. Good birding.

March 1, 1999, Monday, 3:09 p.m. Hello, this is Dave Beaudette at (206)
365-2083. Went birding February 28th with Ken Knittle to Clallam County.
At Ediz Hook in Port Angeles was an immature GLAUCOUS GULL on a log, on the
bayside near the Coast Guard gate and a WHIMBREL was on a log on the bayside
near the Coast Guard gate and near Sequim, a flock of 10 TRUMPETER SWANS
were in a field along the Schmuck Road, south of the Point Williams Road.
These were 6 adults and 4 immatures. Good luck and good birding.
