March 2, 1999, 8:42 a.m. Hi, my name is Dea Just. My phone number is (425)
864-4156. I'd like to report a pair of EURASIAN WIGEONS on the northwest
corner of the Emerald Downs property. To find them if you go to Auburn,
it's 37th Street N.W. Follow it to the northwest corner of Emerald Downs
property and you'll cross the railroad tracks and there's a trail there.
Between the trail and Highway 167 there a series of pools in there. There's
a large flock of AMERICAN WIGEONS in there and there I can for sure identify
one male. He was with a female by himself, but I didn't get a good look at
her before they spooked and took off. Thank you. Good birding. Bye now.

March 2, 1999, Tuesday, 3:59 p.m. This is Dan Lindsay (425) 455-5782
reporting on the ROSS' GOOSE found between Kent and Auburn. Highway - or
277th Street - it ends at the East Valley Highway, which 83rd Avenue South
and Auburn Way North. You have to ignore construction barriers and drive
across onto a gravel road bed to get to where the GOOSE is. It is on the
north side of 277th,east of East Valley Highway, and it is quite easy to see
in with a small number of CANADA GEESE on the north side of 277th. There
are also a large number of ducks around. I saw PINTAIL, GREEN-WINGED TEAL,
AMERICAN WIGEON, GADWALL, in addition to the common MALLARDS there. But you
have to ignore that construction sign in order to get in to see the GOOSE.
