Of the 90 endangered and threatened birds, 29
endangered and l threatened are Hawaiian endemics,
more than any other state. The only two endemic
mammals are endangered, The Monk Seal and the
Hoary Bat. There are only three species of Monk
Seals in the world, the Carribean now extinct, the
Mediterranean which is almost extinct and the
Hawaiian.

How many more animals and plants will become extinct
because of our apathy?

Species Coordinator, Central and West Pacific Islands
