Enjoying the sunshine.....Back home for brunch.

Walking along the Green River near the Riverbend Golf Course I spied a
RED TAILED HAWK doing sentry duty in a tall tree.

Running the risk of getting the Greens Marshall mad at me, I crept in
close to one of the golf course ponds to view the courtship rituals of
about 10-13 NORTHERN SHOVLERS. On shore were around 20 AMERICAN
WIGEONS.....some showing the same "weird" coloration as the one I've been
observing in the Ol' Fishin' Hole. These wigeons were happily pecking at
the grass with a large group of COOTS.

In a farther golf course pond I spied a COMMON MERGANSER. Flying
overhead was a DOUBLE CRESTED CORMORANT.

At the Ol' Fishin' Hole the ducks were behaving nervously. A man with
his UNLEASHED ROTWEILLERS were poking around the edge of the pond.
Grrrrrrrr! I glowered at the man and his dogs, and soon he and his
canine pals were gone.

A bit of anthropomorphising here. I swear the ducks all "sighed quacks
of relief"! After the dogs were gone the ducks were quacking, and
stretching their wings and were back to doing their ducky thing.

Soon the wigeons appeared, the ring billed duck, hooded mergansers and
coots appeared from the brushes along the far side of the pond.
Yes, my "weird" wigeon and mate were still there.

Heading out again! Cleaning my apartment CAN WAIT!
