I don't know how easily disturbed they are by activity. They seem to nest
readily in some very crowded parks in Seattle if there is an available snag.
I think the major problem with their nesting in urban areas is that any snag
big enough for a Pileated WP and next to structures is cut down before it
has a chance to fall down on the buildings, people, or power lines.
