Well, now I have seen everything! ::)) I made a business trip to Bellingham
this morning, and, at mile marker #223(just south of Mount Vernon)on I5, I was
stunned by a singular sight---a great blue heron striding down the grassy
shoulder along the side of the outside lane. No, there weren't any water
sources around and he(?) seemed to be very purposeful. He was heading south
to my north. So, I took the next exit, drove south to the next exit and
circled around. Drove back up I5 and there he was, still striding south with
his head jutting forward; no stopping, hesitating, just taking those big long
steps they take. Strange!
Also, saw 2 mature redtails and 1 eagle going north on I5 and 2 peregrine
falcons
and a coopershawk in Edison-Bow area.
