I had to be in Tacoma on business yesterday, and printed off the information on the
Peregrines from http://www.nwrain.com/~jrlyles/Tacoma_Peregrines.html As I was leaving, around 5, I saw one on
top of the Wells Fargo building, with another making swoops around the building, before finally
disappearing. When the stationary falcon took flight, I followed it towards the water. Two
falcons were having it out, one dive-bombing the other and driving it away. My last look was of a
peregrine perched on the bridge. Thanks so much for keeping this site current! It was a big
help!
On the way home I stopped at Kent Ponds for the first time, at dusk. Of course it was gated
by that time, so I walked slowly through tiny Anderson's Woods. The barn owl dropped out of one
of the trees and circled me twice before settling in a further tree. I retreated to the bench
and waited to see if it would hunt, and caught sight of it swooping into the preserve and diving
twice towards the ground.
A most memorable day! Both were lifers for me.
