Tom: unfortunately, it appears to be true as alleged -- teflon gives off
pretty toxic fumes if it's overheated, and it will kill caged birds. I know
somebody who forgot a teflon pan on a low burner when she went out shopping,
and returned a couple of hours later to find her parrot all but dead (it
died on the way to the vet, who confirmed the cause of death). She hasn't
used teflon since, on the grounds that the fumes can't be that good for
humans, either....

Greetings--

I saw a discussion somewhere online (I don't know if
it was on Tweeters) about the danger of using teflon
frying pans, if you have caged birds int the house.
they apparently emit something that can kill
caged parakeets, parrots, macaws, etc..

anyone know anything about that? Got a cite, by chance?

thanks in advance..

Tom
