Tweets,

In case anyone hasn't noticed Spring arrived this weekend. Yesterday a group
of us at Nisqually saw both TREE SWALLOWS and VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS. And
tonight while my grandson & I were barbecuing chicken we got buzzed by the
first RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD of the year.

Other highlights of the 35 species we saw on our short walk at Nisqually were
a couple of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, a PEREGRINE FALCON on the Nisqually River
side, both COMMON and HOODED MERGANSERS, and several DOWNY WOODPECKERS. The
new boardwalk is open from the visitor center (which is not open yet) to the
Twin Barns. It is great!! My reservations are put to rest. It will really
be something when they finish the construction project.
