Brian Bell and I had a rather nice morning in the light drizzle this morning.

First of Spring:
Green Heron 1 flew across the slough near the beaver lodge
Tree Swallow 4 at lake, at least one more near slough

Other good sightings:
Green-winged Teal At least 21 at the Rowing Club! 8 in slough.
Canvasback 1 male at lake
Bald Eagle Adult on e. side of Lake Samm, Adult near nest
Red-tailed Hawk Pair side-by-side in large tree on w. side of slough
Violet-green Swallow 25+ over weir later in the morning
Western Meadowlark 7 at s. end of east meadow

We also saw what appeared to be a BARN OWL flying westward from the Rowing Club up over the ridge towards Lake Washington. Strange
time to be flying.

Also, we had a COYOTE in the east meadow. The meadowlarks seemed to be keeping a close watch on her activities, and we were lined
up with them, so we could see three meadowlarks standing up peering around trying to keep track of the coyote, while the coyote
looked at us.

All told, around 40 species on the day.
