Well it was just toonice a day, I escaped to the lake, red-breasted
nuthatches scouring the "snags", one common golden eye hanging with the
American wigeons, and one male Euasian. An eagle (couldn't tell because of
sun direction) landed on the island, crows immediately started their
hasseling, one crow almost landing on the poor thing's head, a cry and it
was off! Red-wing males trying out their songs and displays, A zillion or so
cormorants( ok, over twenty) hanging on the raft. Birds I didn't see, there
are usually two pair of domestic ducks, one white and one black in each
pair, one of the black ducks was not around, missed the sapsucker today, and
"Arnold Swartz-a -mallard"( the male "mallard on steroids" has a bad left
foot. Does anyone know the fate of the coot that was shot and the Canada
goose?
