It's not too late to decide to come to Hazel Wolf's 101st birthday party tomorrow, March 20th at two PM. Come early for gabbing and
nature walks. There will be a plethora of entertainment, a family orchestra, a pair of clog dancers, an english horn, a spanish soprano
with guitar and a nine part horn choir. (Not all at the same time!) I'm sure I'm missing someone as well. Hazel will receive a blessing
from the Lummi tribe, a letter from the Governor, a letter and a distinguished citizen medal from Mayor Schell, letters and awards from
Nicaraguan environmental groups, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary and Adopt-A-Stream just to name a few. Refreshments include donations from
Snapple and BOSIA (The Bainbridge-Ometepe Sister Island Association's Cafe Oro.) Haven't tried their shade grown coffee? Come tomorrow
and try some. The Adopt-A-Stream Center is full of birds, and by late afternoon the frogs are in full voice, you can also come learn
about our latest threatened species, our local salmon and some of Snohomish County's efforts to protect them.

It's going to be a great day, and a good time will be had by all. Driving directions follow. Please note the note, the signs say

DIRECTIONS:

The Adopt-A-Stream Foundation at its headquarters in the Northwest
Stream Center in McCollum Park in south Everett, thirty minutes north of
Seattle. To reach Adopt-A-Stream from the south, drive north on
Interstate 5. Exit 186 for 128th Street and Highway 96. Turn right off
ramp onto 128th Street. Head east for approximately 1/2 mile. Turn right
into McCollum Park. Adopt-A-Stream is located at the back of the park,
past the WSU Cooperative extension buildings. It is a gray building with
dark blue trim.

>From the north, proceed south on I-5. Exit 186. Turn left and head east
128th Street SE about 3/4 mile to McCollum Park. Turn right into park.

NOTE: that there are no signs for McCollum Park or Adopt-A-Stream at the
park entrance. However, use the WSU Cooperative Extension sign as a
landmark. There is also a golf driving range across the street from the
park and park and ride located in the park itself.

Parking: Parking is free, but we ask that you please park in upper lots
near the swimming pool. If you require assistance, or have a valid
handicapped parking sticker, there are two marked spaces available near
the building and other parking close by.

The Adopt-A-Stream Foundation is a non-profit environmental education
and habitat restoration organization, which focuses exclusively on
stream and wetland ecology. Our mission is to "teach people to become
stewards of their watersheds." Through field training workshops, teacher
workshops, classroom visits and school assemblies, the organization
reaches hundreds of citizens a year, providing them the skills and
knowledge to understand watershed functions and to monitor and protect
their streams.

presentation and development of education programs and public outreach.
