Hi Tweets,
Yesterday there was a BURROWING OWL along the dike trail. It was on a stump
immediately (20') off the the trail to the right (east) all the way to the
mud flats. It was very tolerant of many observers. Looked a bit disoriented
to me as it contemplated the vast estuary of Skagit Bay and thousands of
SNOW GEESE, DUNLIN, and two-legged gawkers. Am I right in recalling that
other BUOW have been sighted in recent weeks on the west side? How unusual
is this?

Among other usual suspects I had a bright RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD and a
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET displaying with its head feathers so flared that it
looked like a crest.
