I stopped at Totem Lake today (yes, there is a lake burried in the Totem Lake neighborhood). The lake is in behind the Clarion
Hotel, and best access is from the parking lot of the Cowboy Restaurant.

Best bird was an American Bittern flushed from directly underneath me as I passed the Cowboy dumpsters. There were also many
Yellow-rumped Warbler, both Myrtle's and Audubon's. Heard a Virginia Rail. Another nice bird was a male California Quail - it is
getting harder to find these guys as the eastside gets more and more developed.

Surprisingly, no swallows.
