I am pretty sure that I saw a Turkey Vulture last Sunday, but at the time
I thought it was too early, so I hesitated to report it. Then I saw a
couple other reports on Tweeters--so I guess it's not that early to see
TVs! My husband, Steven, and I were traveling south on Washington highway
97, a few miles south of the junction of Washington's highways 97 and 2 at
around 2:45 P.M. on 3/21/99. I saw a large, dark-underneath bird
gliding/soaring to the west of hwy 97, heading mostly north/northwest. I
noted the dark underwing with the lighter gray trailing edge and the
distinct dihedral of the wings. The bird was also making a rocking motion
from side to side while gliding. I saw just the one bird. Surely looked
like a Turkey Vulture to me. Does that mean Spring is really here?

(Please send me any replies/comments to this message, since I don't
regularly see Tweeters mail; or cc me if reply to tweeters--thanks.
