Tweets,
Spent the weekend in the San Francisco area and tried to do
some birding while there. Birds seen by area as follows: Bolinus Lagoon;
Long-billed Curlews, Willets, Marbled Godwits, Snowy and Great Egrets, Short-
billed Dowitchers and many Turkey Vultures( many in Marin County and the SF
Bay area), Ruddy Ducks, several Osprey, Common and Caspian Terns, Hermit
Thrush, Nashville and Townsend Warblers, Scrub Jays, California Towhees and
several Anna's Hummingbirds.
Saturday we birded Golden Gate Park and saw a pair of
Cinammon Teal, Yellow-rumper Warbler, Great Egret, many Black Phoebes, a
female Cooper's Hawk, and a pair of Bushtits
The weather was really great except for some strong winds on
both Friday and Saturday. Would like to spend some more time birding Northern
Calif. next time I go. Anyone else in Tweets land have any hotspots for
birding the general SF Bay area?
Good birding, Doug Watkins,
