Hello all,
As of Sunday, March 28, our wintering Dark-eyed juncoes had migrated out
of the immediate area. The Varied thrushes were still here as of
yesterday, March 29. And the vast flock of Pine siskins showed up as
usual early this morning to breakfast at several condo unit deck feeders
set out by residents of my building. It will be interesting to track the
arrival-departure times of these species over the next few years. I
remember when I lived in Memphis, TN, back in the late 1960's. I could
count on the arrival of the wintering White-throated sparrows on about the
SAME date every October across several years of monitoring.
Cheers,
