A BIG Thank you to Andy Stepniewski and Denny Grandstand for the
terrific birding day in Yakima County. These guys gave us the royal
tour of the area. (Andy don't let this go to your head).

Margie Palmer and I headed over to the East side on Friday morning
birding Ginko State Park, Frenchman Coulee, Fort Simcoe and areas
in-between on our own and then joining Andy on Saturday morning. Andy
duplicated nearly every bird we had found except Lewis' Woodpecker and
Orange-crowned Warbler.

Migrants do seem late this year. We were able to find one
Orange-crowned Warbler at Ginko and one Nashville at Frenchman's
Coulee. Lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers (Audubon's) around in beautiful
plumage.

Thanks again to Andy especially for the Ferruginous Hawk which was a
life bird for me. He kept us hanging in suspense as to whether or not
we would have time to make it over to that area to see it. A four Buteo
outing in Washington is a great way to spend a day.
