Someone mentioned the possible late arrival of rough winged swallows:
There is a grassy pasture just norht of the Puyallup Fish Hatchery
that used to always have sheep on it but not this year. It is
surrounded on two sides by the outlet from the fish hatchery (water
from Maplewood Springs that runs in to Clark's Creek). Always a good
area when the bugs are out, as they are right now.

Yesterday there were rough winged, violet green and barn swallows
doing aerials over the pasture and the stream. Most numerous were
V.G., followed by R.W., and then fewer barns. Lots of other
passerines, at least five herons, one red tail, two Cooper's, and one
cockatiel. Interesting mix.

No green herons or greater egrets yet this year, however.
