Hello, Tweets. Stopped off at Nisqually Wildlife Refuge this evening on
the way home from work to check out the Rufous Hummingbird nest. Was
joined by Tim Tapio. Two baby hummers filled the nest. I say "baby," but
boy have they grown. They were lying basically side-by-side at the top
of the nest, their bills either sticking up in the air or over the side
of the nest. The mom came a coupla times as we watched and stuffed
goodies down the young's gullets. The Sun was of course well to the west
so light on the young uns was poor. We were looking into the Sun. But
through spotting scopes one could make out the down that covered them
ruffle and rustle. Great fun!

Good Birding, all.
