Tweets,

I got up way too early this morning, so I decided to take advantage of it and loop past the Kent Ponds on my way to work. It was a peaceful, windless morning with a big gibbous moon peaking out from the clouds. Close to 4 a.m. while driving Russell Road, I encountered a Barn Owl. It was perched on a utility line that crosses the river channel about 0.3 miles south of 212th St. I thought I heard a hiss of disgust as I backed my car to get a better look. He (or she) then begrudgingly picked up and moved about 40 feet further away down the same line. I decided I wasn't welcome so I eventually moved on. I believe this is near where others have found Barn Owls roosting this past winter if I'm not mistaken.
