Tweeters,
Here's an opportunity to do some birding on the zoo grounds before the zoo is open to the public. The zoo is usually alive with migrants in early May, and early morning is a wonderful time to be there. On Saturday, May 8, Migratory Bird Day, Zoo staff will lead early morning bird walks to some of the hot spots within the zoo. A flat fee of $10.00 entitles participants to bird with zoo staff and enjoy a cup or two of shade-grown coffee. Parking and all day admission to the zoo is included. Meet at the main entrance (South Gate) of the zoo on 50th at 6:45 to 7:00 am. Please register for this event by calling Eric Kowalczyk at (206) 684-4822, or e-mailing him at sheila at halcyon.com.
