We heard a couple of Canadian Geese making a loud racket yesterday, and
looked out into the lake to see what was happening. There were three geese
about 40' offshore, and two were engaged in neck holding and wing beating
that we've observed before with geese fighting on land. After 30 seconds
or so, one of the geese disappeared (dove) underwater, and then reappeared
a several seconds later about 20' away. A few moments later the third
goose also dove, and reappeared near the first diving goose. They then
paddled away, leaving the odd goose alone.
