On the geese thread, did anybody else catch the comment that one of the
local news stations made that "Canada Geese were introduced to the Seattle
area about 30 years ago", gee I wonder were they were introduced from....
Everett, Olympia (or any other northwest city) ;). I think they were
trying to imply that it was not natural for the geese to nest in the urban
area so readily, but I suspect many people who do not know the natural
history of the Canada Goose might get the impression that the CAGO is just
another introduced pest, like H. Sparrows, Starlings. Score another point
for the famed media introducing yet another piece of misinformation.
