hello tweeters.

i went to the montlake fill this evening for a quick
look at the birds before the stormclouds closed up
the sky. i saw several dozen Least Sandpipers in
various places, discovered a common snipe as it tried
to blend in with a tuft of green grass, tried to
sneak up on a calling sora and then later on a calling
virginia rail (both "sneaks" were unsuccessful), saw
that mama killdeer is still sitting tight on her
nest, watched an attack crow try to discover red-winged
blackbird nests and eggs, and heard numerous singing
common yellowthroats. oh, and i almost forgot, but i
did count three pair of cinnamon teal, too. and i saw
my first northern rough-winged swallows today, mixed
in with the bazillions of gravity-defying swallows
skimming the surface of the ponds and zooming over the
trails as i walked.
