Subject: Scrub Jay

Folks,

For several weeks this "spring," we've had a scrub jay in our neighborhood
(Madison Valley, just south of the Arboretum in Seattle). I've never seen
one on this side of the mountains (at least not this far north). I
haven't seen/heard him for a few days, but thought I'd ask -- how uncommon
are scrub jays here?>>

Well, this must be the year for them to find their way north, as I saw a
Western Scrub Jay in my neighborhood in Olympia back on April 18th. For a
while I couldn't believe that's what it was; I was used to seeing them in
the Willamette Valley but not that far north.
