Greetings from Nanaimo B.C; Marilynne and I were at Cowichan Bay
yesterday, we saw a lot of Violet-green swallows, a few Purple martins,
several Barn swallows and about six Vaux's swifts...We watched from the
bank of the stream at the east end of Cowichan Bay road and were able to
get long look's at the back's of the swallows as they hawked insects
just above the water.
The Swifts with the Purple Martins and more Violet green Swallows
were a little further along the road to the Canwest Loading facilitie's.
Also Savanna sparrows, Green-winged Teal, Western Sandpipers,
Canada geese with twenty plus goslings. Heard two different
Common-yellow throat warblers, lots of Rufus Hummer's.
We also noticed that the Osprey nest were gone, no Osprey around at
all.
