Brown-headed Cowbird: I'm probably the only person who is glad to see these
guys show up. I had the first ones at my feeder today, May 8, two males and
female. At one time, there were three icterids on the sidewalk at the same
time: two pairs of Brewer's Blackbirds, 3 female and 4 male Red-winged
Blackbirds, and the three cowbirds.

Calliope Hummingbird: A male visited my feeder on a regular basis this
morning and early afternoon. He was joined by a beautiful red male Rufous
Hummingbird on several occasions.

Orange-crowned Warbler: My first of the year was dazed but still alive
below the walkway between Science and Heald Halls on the WSU campus.

Great Horned Owls: Not new arrivals but new fledglings. The nest along
Albion Road is empty but there are still two chicks in the tree.

Canada Goose: They have at least five yellow goslings on the sewage ponds
along Albion Road.
