Jeff Marco was putting patagial tags on great blue herons at breeding
colonies along the Hanford Reach of the Columbia River. He was
monitoring dispersal from the rookeries. This may have been one of his
marked birds. I believe Jeff still works for Battelle at Hanford.
His tags included a letter number combination for individual ID. He
would probably appreciate a fax at 509-372-3515 with details.

Hi, Tweeters,

I had a nice birding day at NIsqually. Saw some Cinnamon Teal amongst the
regular Mallards. What a pretty bird, and I'm not a waterfowler, I'm a
warbler fan.

I saw a Great Blue Heron with yellow or light colored carpal feathers. Both
wings had two yellow patches each, right on the leading edge of the wing. Is
this just a bird having fun on the way to maturity, or is someone color
marking GB Herons out there??
