It was only a matter of time before this spate of FORK-TAILED STORM-
PETRELS turned into "specimens." A dead storm-petrel was found in
a cow pasture south of Seaside and I just received a phone call about
one that became entangle in the guard mesh over the fish hatchery
at Willapa Bay (and subsequently expired.) Is anybody out there
interested in the corpses?

The Pacific Co. bird is in a freezer at the fish hatchery and, I
think the Seaside bird was also recovered.
