Hello Tweets,

Today I birded the Kent Ponds from 5pm-6pm, with several quality highlights
with the eastern 2"ponds" being low with exposed mudflats, making them good
for shorebirds. The weather was quite favorable, with cloudy, and a threat
of rain, with partial clearing. Notable species included:

1 BAIRD'S SANDPIPER
350+ WESTERN SANDPIPERS
128 LEAST SANDPIPERS
1 female WILSON'S PHALAROPE
2 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS
3 GR.YELLOWLEGS
3 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS
3 WESTERN GREBES
1 pair of REDHEAD
1 pair of CINNAMON TEAL
1 male BLUE-WINGED TEAL
1 PEREGRINE FALCON
3(2 male,1 female)YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS

The "ponds" should be checked regularly, especially now due to favorable
shorebird conditions, as well as checking nearby Clay Street Marsh, south
in Auburn, which didn't produce any notables today, but a single SPOTTED
SANDPIPER was noted along West Valley Fwy., on the east side of the road in
a wet, marshy area, south of 15th Street.

Good Birding,

Patrick sullivan
