We just got back from a four day field trip to Malheur with 27 college
students. Our bird list was around 135 species. The passerine birds were
better than expected considering that it snowed on us Sunday. We found six
warbler species, solitary vireo, buntings, blue-gray gnatcatcher, six
sparrow species and all the other exciting stuff. Of interest we found a
pie-bald brewer blackbird and a white-headed (yellow-headed blackbird)
singing territory on the OO ranch road.
