Well, it was cold and dark, with occasional showers, UNTIL I LEFT, at which
point it became sunny. Still, it was a good morning birding.

Highlights included:

Wood Duck Flyby of a female over the
boardwalk.
Osprey One or two, including one
who perched across from
Dog central
for 1-2 HOURS
Bald Eagle Adult flying over lake,
adult on nest.
Northern Harrier Male present again. I think he
is a young bird.
Northern Flicker Copulating.
Warbling Vireo At the Rowing Club. First of
spring.
Swainson's Thrush West end of boardwalk. First of
spring.
Wilson's Warbler Saw 1 male, heard several
others. First of spring.
Western Tanager Minimum of 2 males and a female.
Maybe as many as 6.
First of
spring.
Black-headed Grosbeak Male with tanagers at west end of
boardwalk.
First of
spring.

All told, 46 species in three hours.
