I picked up a copy of the new NGS last night. In my copy, the entire
Hutton's Vireo page has a weird warm golden cast, making the Hutton's and
the kinglet look unnaturally brownish. (And what's up with the text on the
plate? The Blue-headed has an italic 'solitarius' next to it, a left-over
from its past subspecies days, along with a male symbol; the Cassin's has a
little female symbol next to it. No sex or subspecies for the Plumbeous.)

The phoebe page in my copy has a blue cast that makes the Say's Phoebe, in
particular, look way too dark. Many of the plates that are unchanged from
the original seem too dark; the new Empidonax pages seem too light.

The loons are a big improvement, though! I like the extra tubenoses.
They've added Xantus' hummer, mentioning it as accidental in BC, interesting
in light of the BC committee decision.

I haven't seen the new NGS bird-finding guides yet - anyone else check them
out?
