There's no standard for how to display photos stored on the web,
so scans will look dark on some systems, light on others, and just
right on still others. And, of course, the brightness level at
which you set your monitor will have an effect.

In short, you can't judge exposure from a scan you've downloaded
from the web.

If my slides were actually underexposed, photo editors wouldn't
buy them.
