Hi Tweets,
We've been away from the computer for a few days, we have a few
birds of note collected on our wanderings.
May 7, one Turkey Vulture flying over Mabton, WA.
one Black-necked Stilt in a farm field one mile south
of Ellensburg on Canyon Rd.
May 13, in Yakima Canyon, Kittitas County, Bullock's Oriole,
Western Tanager, Western Kingbird, and 4
Golden-crowned Sparrows. A pair of Hooded Mergansers
on the River at Union Gap in Yakima County.
McNary Pool, Walla Walla County, one Forster's Tern.
Walla Walla River Delta, Lots of American Avocets
one Caspian Tern(dive-bombing a Great Blue Heron
and one Black-bellied Plover in breeding plumage.
Interestingly, all the White-crowned Sparrows
that had been in our yard before we left are gone.
