On a train trip from Edmonds to Vancouver BC the last two days I saw two
beached whales - one between Edmonds and Mukilteo and one in the Crescent
Beach area. This was very surprising to me, having never seen one before.
Don't know how long these two have been there.

Also added two birds to my "train list" on this very scenic train ride -
whimbrel and harlequin duck. Also a bunch of sandpipers which could not be
ID'd from the train. - Teresa Michelsen
