Hello Tweeters,
After going all day to find one species of Dragonflies on Lakama Lake near
Camas.The weather not permitted to find any of Dragonflies. But when i came
home we had a Swainson's Thrush in our yard.We have them every year in our
yard, last year it was the 18th of May, so this seems early for here.
While i was waiting on Lacamas Lake for the weather to clear, i did a
little Birding around the Lake. On the Lake there where 4 Osprey 2 adults
and 2 Juvenile. It was a show to see the diving in to the water. One of the
young took seven dive before he got a fish. This lake is verry popular for
the public to use for fishen, so there was quite few fisherman on the lake,
despite of all this, it din't bother the Osprey, There also was a Bald
Eagle and a Great Blue Heron. I had my first Mac Gillivray's Warblers also
with lot's of Wilson's and ONE NASHVILLE WARBLER the second this year.
The Dragonflie i try to find is the Spiny Baskettail Epitheca spinigera,
which would be a new species for me. I found 5 species this year sofar. One
is a early record which i found last week on Ocean Shores.The Cardinal
Meadowhawk, Symprtrum illotum, which is one of this real bright red one.
