This morning, Saturday May 15th, at around 0900, a Snowy Egret was
first discovered (unsure of initial observer) at Sturgeon Banks along the
west side of the City of Richmond at the west end of Westminster Highway.

In short order after the word went out, the bird was seen flying south. A
couple/three hours later, the bird was relocated at Terra Nova on a silt
bar in the Middle Arm of the Fraser River north of its original location.

Terra Nova is an area in the Northwest corner of the City of Richmond at
the west end of River Road that runs beside the dyke of the Middle Arm.
There is a small gravel parking lot at the very end of the River Road where
you can park. We last saw the bird around 1pm on a silt bar to the
northwest of the parking lot. The tide was extremely low offering a huge
area that the bird could hang around in.
