Hi Tweets:

On Sunday I enjoyed a walk from 132nd St. into the north-end of the Redmond
Watershed Preserve, along Trillium Trail to Old Pond (aka Sock Lake).
Species included Song Sparrow, Bufflehead, Mallard w/young, Bewick's Wren,
Winter Wren, Spotted Towhee, Steller's Jay, Canada Goose, Violet-green
Swallow, Pacific-slope Flycatcher, California Quail, Downy Woodpecker,
Wilson's Warbler, Brown Creeper and Red-tailed Hawk. European Starlings are
nesting in last year's Pileated Woodpecker nest-hole.

The adult hawk circled over the lake and called constantly for at least 5
minutes. When I first heard it, the hawk was answered by another call that I
thought sounded like the call of an immature hawk. I couldn't find a nest.
After perching for awhile, the Red-tailed Hawk again circled above the lake,
constantly vocalizing. Eventually, it circled out of view.

Of the 4 Brown Creepers, I heard 2 very near the lake, and saw 2 others, one
being fed by the other. A neat sight.
