Dave Swayne and I spent the day atlasing in two blocks along the Skykomish
River at the north edge of King County. We found one unusual bird, a
VESPER SPARROW feeding on a lawn in the town of Baring. This was on 637
Place NE, which is a cul-de-sac running north from a street that parallels
Hwy 2 on its north side. The street is short; there is only one house on
the east side, identified by its owners' sign (The Lanes). The sparrow was
feeding on the grass next to the base of a large maple near the street on
the southwest part of the lawn.

We also saw a BLACK SWIFT, so at least one is back, and several migrating
NASHVILLE WARBLERS -- all near Baring.
