Today we accidentally flushed a Mourning Dove off a nest on
the ground. We were able to see the nest. There was one white
egg.

Question. Does she incubate as she lays each egg or does she
wait until she has laid the usual 2 eggs. The reason I ask is
that after we saw the nest, we came back to that vicinity
about 20 minutes later and she was not back on the nest. When
we were on our way home (3 hours later) she was back on the
nest.
