With all the migrants that have suddenly dropped in within the past two days, Steve is likely to find something great in his back yard.
Last night I spoke with Dennis Duffy, who was the one who actually spotted the bird while birding with Steve. His plans were to try for the auklet again, weather permitting (and it looks pretty good so I guess he's out there today) An interesting point that I don't think came out in the first reports, was that the bird flew in from the west, over Dennis's head and plopped down into Kennedy Lagoon with a small group of shovelers. At one point it flew back to the west and attempted to land in conifers just west of Madrona Way, then returned to the cove. Searching for this bird in the trees seems absurd, but perhaps a more thorough search of the sound near Point Partridge or the Hastie Lake landing might yield the little sucker.

By the way does anyone have anymore information on the Auklet? I haven't
heard anything on either Tweeters, or the Birdbox. Thanks.
