Our bc chickadees are now furiously feeding the babies. The last two years
I've been lucky enough to be present when the kids popped out for their
first flight. It takes them about 1/2 hour to really get good at flying,
and about three days before they can land gracefully on branches.

Two and three years ago we had two nestings in the box.
So with this early start maybe this year we'll get two also.

Last fall when I cleaned the nest box there were 7 eggs buried in the
mossy nest. From their position, I would guess that an early nesting
failed, so we only had one brood.
